Waylan Wine Co. was born in January 2015, 30,000 feet in the air—scribbled on the back of a SkyMall catalog by two brothers, Brad and Greg Saarloos. The name itself is a fusion of their middle names, WAYne (Brad) + aLAN (Greg), representing their shared vision and passion for winemaking.

Since then, Waylan has grown from an idea into a reality. After three vintages, bottling their first wines in July, and navigating the hurdles of permits and licenses, the brothers have built something truly special—a tasting room in the heart of Los Olivos. Along the way, they welcomed their younger cousin, Zach—better known as “Rajas”—who joined for the 2016 harvest and never left. As the ultimate ‘jack of all trades,’ Rajas will be there to greet you with a smile when you visit the tasting room.
